SPOORTHI-2018

Kodava Deenabandhu Charitable Trust Mysuru organized a four day motivational workshop SPOORTHI-2018 for its beneficiaries from 1st June to 4th June 2018 at the premises of Kodava Samaja Mysore. 35 college students out of 241 beneficiaries of the Trust (24 girls and 11 boys) aged between 16 and 20 years hailing from all parts of Kodagu attended the program.

The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by three of our senior Trustees Maj Gen Codanda Karumbaya, Mrs Pattamada Shanthi Ganapathi and Mrs Maletira Chimy Nanjappa. This was followed by a prayer from two students attending the workshop. Mag Gen (Rtd) Codanda K Karumbaya delivered the inaugural address.

Dr Adengada A Kuttappa started the lecture series with a motivational talk on “Jeevanatra Guri”.  Dr Appaneravanda Sonia Mandappa had an engrossing interactive session with the girls on Gynaec issues and also arranged screening for anemia and blood grouping for all the 35 students who attended the workshop.

Following day began with a talk by Maneyapanda Ganapathy on Yoga-science of living. Then Sri Paleyanda K Karumbaya had a brief interaction with the participants on ‘Self Improvement’. Noted Environmentalist Sri Kotramada M Chinnappa spoke on wild life conservation and shared his experience. Dr Neethu Ganapathi Anjaparavanda spoke on public speaking and facing interviews Then Avaremadanda Monnappa IAS had a motivating interaction. This was followed by some fun filled interactive games conducted by Mrs Muruvanda Indira Ganapathy and lecture on Creativity in communication

On the third day, all the students attended the half day Career awareness workshop covering Defence, Civil Services and Banking, at Vidyashram College, organized by our Trust in conjunction with Kodagu Educational & Social Service Trust. The afternoon session began with a motivating lecture by Mrs Mandapanda Nrithya Appaya, Stanford scholar who spoke on ‘goals and aspirations’. Later Ms Chendrimada Anila Madappa spoke on Etiquette and Environment. Fourth day began with an informative talk on Child Rights by Sri Prasanna. Then Malchira Aiyappa Additional SP had a very engrossing motivational session. In the afternoon, Pattada Jayakumar along with Chamera Dinesh conducted an interactive General Knowledge session. Mock interviews were also conducted to give them a feel of attending the job interviews.

In addition to the above, the students participated in the 75 minutes of guided Yoga sessions from six in the morning on 2nd 3rd and 4th June. The classes were conducted by Ms Codanda Namratha Medappa.  On 3rd June Students were also taken to see Chamundi Hills and Palace illumination.

The workshop ended with an entertaining Camp Fire on the 4th evening. On 5th morning all students assembled in the hall, lit the lamp, prayed in chorus and boarded the bus to go to Mysuru bus stand with a promise to write and mail us about their experiences and learning.

Kodava Deenabandhu Charitable Trust Mysuru organized a four day motivational workshop SPOORTHI-2017 for its beneficiaries from 8th June to 12th June 2017 at the premises of Kodava Samaja Mysore. 29 college students out of 230 beneficiaries of the Trust (19 girls and 10 boys) aged between 16 and 20 years hailing from all parts of Kodagu attended the program.

The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by three of our senior Trustees Maj Gen Codanda Karumbaya, Mrs Pattamada Shanthi Ganapathi and Mrs Maletira Chimy Nanjappa. Ms Suman Nanaiah Area General Manager, Royal Orchid group spoke on avenues in Hotel Industry. Mukkatira Jeevan, retd senior officer, Canara Bank spoke on employment in Banking sector. Dr Neethu Ganapathi Anjaparavanda spoke on public speaking and facing interviews. Ms Chendrimada Anila Madappa spoke on Etiquette and Mrs Codanda Dechu Karumbaya on Environment. Following day began with a motivating lecture by Prof Kambeyanda C Belliappa, stressing the importance of English. Prof Balaji had an entertaining session on spoken English, reading as a habit and teaching profession as a career option. Then Dr M R Ravi KAS spoke on the importance of skill development. Sri Pattamada G Ponnappa spoke on goals and aspirations. Fourth day began with an informative talk on Child Rights by Sri Prasanna. Sri Balyamanda Nanaiah SP(rtd)spoke on joining the Police force.  Dr Appaneravanda Sonia Mandappa had an engrossing interactive session with the girls on Gynaec issues and also arranged screening for anemia and blood grouping for all the 29 students who attended the workshop. In the afternoon, Kallichanda Mudduraj conducted an interactive General Knowledge session. Mock interviews were also conducted to give them a feel of attending the job interviews.

The classes were conducted by Narayanananda Yogashram, arranged by Sri Maneyapanda Ganapathy. He also gave a talk on Yoga-science of living. The students were also taken to Infosys for a three hour session there which was arranged by Kodandera Divya Harish. Students were also taken to see Chamundi Hills.

The workshop ended with an entertaining Camp Fire on the 11th evening. On 12th morning all students assembled in the hall, lit the lamp, prayed in chorus and boarded the bus to go to Mysuru bus stand with a promise to write and mail us about their experiences and learning.

Kodava Deenabandhu Charitable Trust Mysuru organized a three day motivational workshop SPOORTHI-2016 for its beneficiaries from 5th June to 8th June 2016 at the premises of Kodava Samaja Mysore. 28 college students out of 200 beneficiaries of the Trust (16 girls and 12 boys) aged between 16 and 20 years hailing from all parts of Kodagu attended the program.

The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by six children attending the workshop along with our senior Trustee Maj Gen Codanda Karumbaya. This was followed by a prayer from two students attending the workshop. Mag Gen (Rtd) Codanda K Karumbaya delivered the inaugural address.

Sri Pandanda D Medappa, eminent lawyer Mysuru started the lecture series with a motivational talk. This was followed by a very inspiring talk by Sri Gubbigudu Ramesh. Then Sri Pattamada G Ponnappa spoke on goals and aspirations. The afternoon session began with a very entertaining talk on ‘Jeevanatra Guri’ by Dr Adengada A Kuttappa. Puliyanda Subash Subbaiah,KAS interacted with the children on the various Govt scholarships and schemes. Sri Govardhan,Senior Executive Vice President Canbank V C Ltd interacted on employment in banking sector. Mrs Muruvanda Indira Ganapathy conducted some fun filled interactive games as a preamble to her lecture on Creativity in communication on the following day. Then Sri Paleyanda K Karumbaya had a brief interaction with the participants on challenges in life and how to face them. Following day began with a motivating lecture by Prof Kambeyanda C Belliappa. Maj Gen Kodandera Arjun Muthanna motivated the participants to join the armed forces as a career option. Prof Balaji had a brilliant entertaining session on Spoken English. Sri Balyamanda Nanaiah SP(rtd)spoke on joining the Police force. Mrs Ittira Sudha Vasanth did a psychological assessment of the group and counselled few students separately. Dr Appaneravanda Sonia Manoj educated the students about life saving techniques, Mudras for improving memory and concentration, and screening for anemia for all those who attended the workshop.

In addition to the above, the students participated in the 75 minutes of guided Yoga sessions from six in the morning on 6th and 7th June. The classes were conducted by Narayanananda Yogashram, arranged by Sri Maneyapanda Ganapathy. He also gave a talk on Yoga-science of living. The students were also taken to Infosys for a three hour session there which was arranged by Kodandera Divya Harish. Ms Chammatira Rikki Sommaiah, one of the beneficiaries till last year and now working with Ernst and Young after completing her MBA, shared her stressful journey to complete her education and the continuous support our Trust extended. Ms Bachamanda Preethi Madappa an employee of Infosys conducted a 30 minute interactive motivating session. Students were also taken to see the Palace illumination.

The workshop ended with an entertaining Camp Fire on the 7th evening. On the 8th morning all students assembled in the hall, lit the lamp, prayed in chorus and boarded the bus to go to Mysuru bus stand with a promise to write and mail us about their experiences and learning.

SPOORTHI-2015

The Trust conducts “SPOORTHI”-motivational workshops/camps for college children from rural areas of Kodagu district. Also sponsors children below 15 years for month long summer camps on self- development organized by Ramakrishna Mission.

In May 2015, the Trust organized a three day motivational workshop/camp “SPOORTHI”, for its beneficiaries, at Kodava Samaja, Mysore. 36 students out of 120 Deenabandhu scholarship recipients in the year 2013-14 (21 girls and 15 boys) aged between 16 and 20 years, hailing from all parts of Kodagu attended the program.

The program SPOORTHI was inaugurated with the lighting of lamp followed by a prayer from two students attending the camp. Maj Gen (Rtd) Codanda K Karumbaya delivered the inaugural address. Sri Pandanda D Medappa, eminent lawyer, Mysore started the lecture series with a motivational talk. Sri Pattamada G Ponnappa spoke on goals and aspirations. Col Chourira Ganapathy and Trust’s President Kattera A Kariappa briefed the children on different educational levels to join the Defense. Dr Adengada A Kuttappa inspired the children with his witty speech. Sri Balyamanda Nanaiah spoke on joining the Police force. Sri Anantha Padmanabha, Director, RUDSET institute (Rural Development Self Employment Training Institute) spoke on the free in- house training facilities available at the institute. Then Sri Dwarakanath, senior officer from Bank of India interacted with the students on employment in banking sector. Following day began with a very inspiring talk by Gubbigudu Ramesh, followed by S Sudarshan of V-LEAD on personality development and communication skills. Then Dr Kambeyanda C Belliappa spoke on the Importance of English. Dr Latha Muthanna spoke on personal hygiene, ill effects of liquor and drugs. She also interacted separately with girls on gynecology related issues. Later Mrs Ittira Sudha Vasanth did a psychological assessment of the group and counseled few students separately. Mrs Codanda Dechu Karumbaya spoke on Etiquette and Mrs Chendrimada Anila Madappa spoke on Cleanliness and plastic pollution.

In addition to the above, the students participated in 75minutes of guided Yoga sessions from six in the morning. The classes were conducted by Narayanananda Yogashram, arranged by Sri Maneyapanda Ganapathy. He also gave a talk on Yoga-science of living. Children were also taken to Infosys for a three hour session there, arranged and conducted by Kodandera Mrs Divya Harish and her Husband Harish Machia. The students were also taken to see the palace illumination, Chamundi hills and Brindavan gardens. The workshop ended with an entertaining Camp fire on the last day evening

The Trust also sponsored 6 poor high school students to attend the 30 day in house camp “Vasanth Vihaar” organized by Sri Ramakrishna Sharadashram, Ponnampet.
